Dyslexia Assessment

Dyslexia Assessment

Dyslexia is growing throughout the UK and with as many as one in every eight people having Dyslexia, from that simple figure alone there has never been a more urgent need for people to understand Dyslexia and how individuals can be supported through learning and education.
At The Helen Arkell Dyslexia Centre they believe that Dyslexics are special and that they are all as individual as the next person. The team work with Dyslexic individuals and their families to offer support and bring confidence that Dyslexia can be used positively.
An assessment of dyslexia is not as simple as it sounds, there are many forms of Dyslexia making it sometimes very difficult to diagnose. At The Helen Arkell Dyslexia Centre, they have a highly experienced team of Helen Arkell Specialist Assessors (HASAs) who are trained to assess and report on many types of Dyslexia. They spend time listening and talking to parents of young people to make sure that the best advice is given whilst the child is at an early age, as well as offering reviews for older children and adults who have previously been assessed. Whether it is difficulty with writing and concentration, or you wish to support a Dyslexic person who struggles with numbers, they will have the right assessment for you. A team of Educational Psychologists are used for assessment when cases are more complex.
